During the pandemic, there has been a lot of uncertainty. People have come together, focused on health and family, and have adapted to a changing atmosphere. As the pandemic continues, there are priorities that people should continue to focus on. Your Mystical Guide, Marisa Grieco shares a few.
Prioritize Health and Family
Your health matters. It impacts your personal life, your work life, and your mindset. The best way to focus on health is to take control of it. Look at the habits that may sabotage a healthy lifestyle, such as sedentary living, unhealthy foods, and not listening to your body.
Not only does health impact your life, but it can impact your ability to be productive in the workplace, too. Since COVID-19, many businesses have begun to recognize the importance of employee wellbeing. Employee burnout and resignations are common when companies do not care about the health of their workers. The pandemic highlighted a problem within the workforce, and with or without the risk of COVID-19, you should keep health at the forefront of your working life.
During lockdowns, people had to come together as families and spend more time together. The bonds between you and your family have always been essential, and in the future, continue to make them a priority. Try to make time to eat a meal together every day. If you have children, create a space to work on schoolwork together and set times aside where you and your family have each other's undivided attention. Try to spend more time outdoors. Outdoor time not only gives you an opportunity to bond but also increases your physical and mental health.
Support Local Business
The businesses hit hardest by COVID-19 were small, local companies. Many people banded together to support local businesses in an effort to help them stick around. The benefits of keeping your local businesses do not stop when the pandemic ends. You should continue to support the companies that employ our friends and families and give back to your local community.
Try to shop locally where you can. If you want to shop online, look for shops that allow you to order from your area. You can also search social media and like and follow the companies in your area. When you support local businesses, you keep the money local, too.
Start Your Own Business
With so many people working from home, many realized the benefits of starting their own online businesses, leading them to quit their 9-to-5 jobs and start their own ventures. With so much potential to make money, this is an idea that’s sure to keep gaining traction.
You can do this too! Whether it’s a side business or finally taking the leap into entrepreneurship through a coffee shop or boutique, there’s no time like the present moment.
Simply determine a product that’s in demand or a service that solves a problem. Then, create a business plan outlining your goals, target market, marketing strategy, and financial organization. An LLC designation is a great business choice to keep things easy while still protecting your interests. You get asset protection and the option for tax advantages, plus this is an easy step you can complete online. You can learn how to start an LLC when you use online platforms.
Embrace Meditation
Meditation has been shown to offer a host of benefits, from reducing stress and anxiety to improving sleep and concentration. For many people, the idea of meditation seems daunting, but the reality is that anyone can learn to meditate.
The key is to find a method that works for you and to stick with it. You can watch how Marisa learned to meditate with this video. While there are many different approaches to meditation, the basics are always the same: find a comfortable position, focus on your breath, and let go of your thoughts. With regular practice, you should start to notice a difference in your mood and well-being. If you're looking for a way to improve your mental health, starting a meditation practice could be the answer.
Things Have Changed
COVID-19 has drastically changed everyday routines for billions of people around the world. Especially during the lockdown periods, when there was a lot of uncertainty about when we’d go back to ‘normal’. During the first stages of the lockdown, there were people who took to the streets in protest. Security had to be tightened for the public safety, Police were sent out to patrol, equipped with body cams for their own safety, which was originally contested by some. Some however, like Ashley Roberts, agreed with and saw the benefits to using this equipment, for various reasons.
Follow Your Passion
More time spent at home gave more people opportunities to follow their passions and pick up hobbies. Maybe you discovered you loved to cook or that you have a talent for knitting. Hobbies should continue to be a priority.
Having a hobby can help you create a schedule for your free time. You are less likely to stare at a TV for hours after a long workday and more likely to feel productive. Likewise, hobbies allow you to cope with the stress of the day. Your hobbies may boost your self-confidence and remind you of your self-worth. When you feel strongly about a hobby, it can even turn into a career goal.
The COVID-19 pandemic may have brought a lot of strain to the country, but it’s also helped people learn to prioritize. We’ve found better health through nutrition and exercise and learned how to support local businesses. Many of us have taken a leap of faith and jumped into business ownership, while others have picked up grounding meditation practices or new and fulfilling hobbies. It shows that we’re resilient and that we can still make the best life possible for ourselves and our families.
I believe that we are all-natural healers and innately know what to do. When I was little and got hurt, and I don’t mean from a slipper or a spoon-wink - no, if I fell or even if my ego got hurt, my Nonna Pasqualina knew precisely what to do. In this post, I will share some simple Italian “reiki” tips so you can see how easy it is and how you’ve probably been doing it your whole life and didn’t even know it. So, let’s get started.
When I was about four years old, I was in my Nonna’s dining room, playing like any curious kid inside their grandparent’s house. I shuffled over to the window and began exploring a piece of wood propping the window open. Suddenly, the window came crashing down and slammed my little hand.

Of course, I screamed. I screamed like someone had just stolen my last biscotti and ate it before I could knock their lights out. Hearing this scream, my Nonna sprinted into the room to see who had been killed. She bent down, took my hand in hers, yelled for someone to watch the stove, and proceeded to make me feel better.

It wasn’t until years later, when I was studying to become a reiki master, that I realized, “Holy crap, my Nonna was a natural Reiki Master!”

Let’s be real: sometimes life gets overwhelming, and no matter how much self-care or mindfulness we preach, we can still find ourselves spiraling into a cranky mood. Lately, that’s been me. And if you're feeling like crap lately, too, guess what? You're not alone. I’ve been there, and trust me, I’ve got some tricks up my mystical sleeve to help you (and me) break out of that funk!
First off, let’s take a moment to understand why we feel this way. As your Mystical Guide, I'm here to tell you that crankiness isn’t just an emotion; it’s a combination of factors—stress, fatigue, maybe even hormones—that trigger your body's chemical response. It's like our bodies are looking for reasons to reinforce the mood. Whether it’s the holiday rush, work pressures, or just feeling overwhelmed by life, these moods happen to all of us.
Now, let me spill the tea: I’ve been super cranky lately! With my new membership site launch, family stuff, and everything in between, it feels like I’m carrying the world on my shoulders. And instead of taking my own advice, I’ve been riding the wave of self-pity right into Cape Depression. But hey, we’re not here to stay in that space—let's get out of it!

Step 1: Acknowledge and Accept
First things first, acknowledge how you're feeling without judgment. Yes, it sucks to feel cranky, but guess what? It's totally okay. Just because you're feeling this way doesn’t mean you're failing. Be gentle with yourself and say, “I see you, cranky mood, and I’m choosing to take charge.”
Tip: Grab a journal or a voice note and let out whatever's on your mind. Write or say anything that comes to you. Sometimes just releasing those feelings by getting them out of your head and onto paper (or audio) helps to make you feel a whole lot lighter.
I know it’s hard when you’re stuck in that ‘blah’ feeling, but one of the best ways to shake it off is to get up and get moving. For me, it’s turning on my favorite song (usually something from the 80s!) and dancing it out in my living room. Or maybe you’re into something a little more calming—how about a walk with purpose?
Why it works: Movement gets your energy flowing and helps your body produce serotonin (aka the happy chemical). When serotonin levels rise, cranky moods tend to disappear. So, whether it’s dancing, stretching, or walking, just get that energy moving!
Tip: If dancing feels silly or you can’t get outside, just get up and stretch. Do some light yoga, wiggle around a bit, or even march in place. You’re just one move away from shifting your energy!
One of the sneaky things about cranky moods is that they feed on negative thoughts. It's like your brain is on autopilot, telling you all the things that are going wrong, exaggerating them, and turning them into a personal attack. So how do we stop that?
My go-to technique: Affirmations! Start by catching those negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. My favorite affirmation (and one I use often) is:
"I am light, I am love, I am whole."
I know it sounds simple, but sometimes, the simplest mantras are the most powerful. It interrupts that negativity and brings you back into the present moment. And guess what? The more you say it, the more it sinks in. Try it! Repeat it until it feels true.
Natural sunlight is like nature’s antidepressant. I’m lucky to live in Southern California, where the sun shines most of the year, but even if you don’t, find a way to get some light into your life. If you can't go outside, sit by a window and let the light hit your face. If you live in a rainy or cloudy area, a light therapy lamp can work wonders.
Why it works: Sunlight helps your body produce vitamin D and boosts serotonin levels, which naturally improves your mood.
Tip: Even if it’s gloomy outside, grab a cozy blanket, sit by the window, and imagine you’re on a sunny beach. Visualization can be just as powerful as the real thing!
Let’s be honest—sometimes when we're cranky, our go-to is junk food (hello, pasta and Netflix!). But that’s not really helping, is it? Instead, fuel your body with mood-boosting foods like bananas, nuts, or dark chocolate. You’ll be amazed at how nourishing your body with the right foods can change your outlook.
Also, don’t forget to hydrate! Cranky moods can sneak up on you if you're dehydrated, so grab a glass of water, and keep sipping.
Tip: If supplements are more your thing, consider 5-HTP or St. John’s Wort (but always check with your healthcare provider first). These are known to boost serotonin naturally, helping to lift that mood cloud.
If moving around inside the house isn't cutting it, take things outdoors. Connecting with nature has a magical way of grounding your energy and rebalancing your mood. If you can, go to the beach, the park, or even just step into your backyard.
Why it works: Being in nature reminds us that we’re a part of something bigger, and it helps calm the nervous system. Even a few minutes outside can reset your cranky mood.
Tip: Can’t get outside? Bring nature in! Add some houseplants, open a window, or listen to nature sounds on your phone. You’ll be surprised at how quickly it changes your mood.
I know, who needs convincing to get a massage? But seriously, it works! A massage helps increase serotonin and dopamine levels while reducing cortisol (the stress hormone). It’s like hitting the reset button on your body.
If you can’t get to a massage therapist, try some self-massage techniques or use a foam roller to release tension in your body.
Tip: Get out that essential oil diffuser while you’re at it. Scents like lavender, citrus, or eucalyptus can be mood-lifters, giving you a full sensory experience to help shift your energy.
I know, laughing when you're in a cranky mood sounds impossible, but give it a try! Watch a funny movie, scroll through some silly memes, or call a friend who always makes you laugh. Laughter really is the best medicine.
Tip: Don’t have time for a full movie? Watch a quick YouTube video or funny clips. Even just a few minutes of laughter can shift your mood entirely.
Finally, remember this: you are not your cranky mood. Moods come and go, and they don’t define you. Repeat after me: “I am not my thoughts, I am not my emotions, I am light, I am love.”
When you distance yourself from your mood, you give yourself the power to change it. Be gentle with yourself, and know that this, too, shall pass.
We all get cranky sometimes. It’s part of being human. But the next time you’re feeling down, I hope these tips help you shift your mood and get back to feeling like the shiny, bright light you are. At some level, we’ve all had experiences or signs where we have connected to our deceased loved ones. Whether it was from a gentle touch to lights flickering or seeing numbers in patterns, and even having a bird or an animal join you - we’ve all experienced something.
In this article, I would like to share my story of how I connected with my Nonno when he passed so that it might be able to help you on your journey. I know that this is a delicate subject for many of us, but that’s why this article is so important.
Remember, we are all energy beings, and energy can not be destroyed.
When my Nonno passed, he lived in Canada, and I was far away in Los Angeles. He had been diagnosed with cancer and was fighting it for a few years. I tried to visit as often as I could, each time hoping it wasn’t the last. But then I got the phone call; he was going. I couldn’t get there fast enough. I remember feeling helpless and not knowing what to do.
Then I heard the phone ring again, and I knew it was too late. I felt my body go limp. I sat in front of my fireplace, closed my eyes, and used every gift, every ritual, every guide to help me find my Nonno on the other side. I flew around in the darkness like a panicked mother looking for her lost child in a crowded mall. I needed to find him, and I wasn’t giving up. Instead, I focused on building up my energy - my frequency - to connect to this new realm that he was in.
It was all happening so fast, but somehow, I felt like I knew what I was doing. I could even sense other beings around me, but I just kept going. I held his image close to my heart, and I called for him within my mind.
Nonno!! , I yelled, his name.
Nonno Pasquale where are you?
I kept flying faster and harder. That’s the only way I can describe it.
I didn’t get to say goodbye, I thought… I love you so much
Where are you? I yelled again.
And then, just like that, I felt him; his presence was loud and clear and all around me. I burst out into tears. It was like the first time he picked me up from kindergarten. I was so relieved that I had found him.
“I found you!” I thought. “I found you.”
I hugged him in my mind’s eye. I had the urge to run to my stereo, and I started to play a Pavarotti song that he loved. I got up and danced with him in my arms. I laughed at the fact that he finally came to LA and visited me. It was truly magnificent.
As I enjoyed dancing with him with giant tears in my eyes, I could feel it was time for him to leave. So I asked him if he could leave me a sign that this happened, and I didn’t just make it up. Well, the next day, on the same spot where we were dancing, it looked like someone had just poured a glass of red wine all over my wooden floor.
My Nonno loved his wine.
I ran upstairs to ask my husband if he had spilled anything on the floor.
“Nothing,” he said.
As I bolted back across our hallway, about ten birds started smacking against the windows. I admit. I was freaking out, and I wanted to know where the spillage came from. But, unfortunately, my husband was still asleep and knew nothing about it. So I grabbed my pillow and squeezed it, thanking my Nonno for visiting me and leaving an unequivocal message.

For some reason, this cosmic jump that I had done opened me up to all kinds of doorways. My psychic gifts took off after that. I began to read others’ minds, but it seemed more like channeling now.
I could read the energy around people.
I could tell if I picked up an energetic hitchhiker.
The energy was seriously off the charts for me. Slowly, I visualized myself closing windows to these different realms when I didn’t want to be as open as I was. This experience had really opened my eyes and third eye to so many possibilities.
I wanted to share this story to let you know that your loved ones are close by.

Years and years ago, when I first started playing around with tarot cards, I was drawn in by the art. If the deck had incredible images, I wanted it!! I didn't even know if I was going to use the deck -- I was simply inspired. And before I knew it, I had filled my shelves with all sorts of tarot decks.
But what I found interesting was that I lacked trust in using these divination tools.
It didn’t matter how many decks I pulled out that told me the exact same message over and over again - I just didn’t believe it. I constantly doubted myself. And when I did a reading for a friend, I felt shy and insecure about sharing the download I was getting. I wasn’t sure if the messages were my mind, from my ego, or just my thoughts giving this advice. I was overwhelmed.
In this post, I will share some tips and tricks to get you ready to perform a tarot reading, so you don’t have to experience what I did. This way, you can start to get out of your own way. Once you begin to get this practice down, it will give you the confidence to trust yourself and your process.

First, you're going to want to find a time and a place where you can practice these techniques with no one up in your grill. Cause once you tap into this incredible high frequency, you're going to be a magnet, especially if you have kids.
On a side note, if you do have kids, and they are going to be around. All I have to say is, “Hey guys! I’m gonna be up in the laundry room if you need me. Come on up and help me fold clothes if you’re not busy.”
( OK, that tip, that’s bonus material. You’re welcome.)
Let the universe know that you want to do a reading. This not only helps you to create the space, but it also helps you to access your mystical side. With your intention set, you are making it clear to your DNA, to your body, to your mind, and your spirit that you are shifting gears.
You can also use one of my favorite acting tools: externals. Externals are a simple tool that helps you to shift your “leading centers” so that you begin to move in new ways. Leading Centers are those parts of your body that you use to first engage with your environment. Externals are a fun one to play around with. To make it simple, become aware of what part of your body crosses an imaginary line first. For example, when you walk, is it your forehead, your knees, or your hips? Once you know, then try something new. It will help you to bring in a new energy. Then ask yourself, “how does this new part of you sit?” Next, try sitting in a particular position that elicits this part of you. Then use the same position every time you read, you’re letting your body learn when I sit here, or in this position, I allow this new energy to come through and do my readings.
Listen to that voice that you use when you're uplifting and supporting your friends. Let yourself know that you are doing a great job! And that you are worthy of this high-frequency vibration that is full of knowledge and love!
Meditation is a wonderful tool to help access this energy and clear your mind of crappy thoughts. If you want some help, I have plenty on my website, from guided meditations to sound frequencies. Again, do what resonates with you.
Give yourself at least 25 minutes to prepare your energy field before a reading.
I suggest grounding, then centering yourself. You’re getting the energy flowing in all your chakras, especially your heart and third eye. Last but not least, surround yourself with white light. You can use a Mantra, thanking your guides for helping you to open up and connect to this incredible frequency. If you need help, you can watch my other videos or go to my website.
This is where you want to create a reading screen for yourself. I like to tap into my Alta Major chakra, which is at the back of your head at the base of your skull, as well as my third eye for this tip.
Just writing about it, I can feel the back of my head tingling, and this time it’s not because I left my vibrator under my pillow.
So first, I create a screen at the back of my brain, like a mini tv. Then I bring energy into my screen and ground it. It’s like you're plugging it in. Now I’ve created a space where I can see my downloads. Again, it’s like I’m watching tv.
It’s essential to set your boundaries before a tarot reading so you know where your energy ends and where your client’s energy begins. Sometimes even before I shuffle the cards, I will start to get downloads of information. Then when I see the cards, it all makes sense.

Let’s talk about channeling.
For me, I realized I had begun channeling years ago when I was working with a friend. Understand that channeling is not that thing you see in the movies where someone gets possessed by an entity and starts climbing the walls. Believe me, I’ve tried.
It’s not like that at all.
For me, when a friend and I were discussing a problem that he or she had, I would pause, take a deep breath, release any tension, and then I would begin sharing what I was thinking about their issue.
I thought it was all me.
My energy was calm and caring, but the minute they interrupted me and started talking, I would suddenly come out of my trance. The weird part was, I couldn't repeat what I had just told my friend. It was like I forgot what I had said.
That was always awkward for me. I used to think,
“How can I forget something so fast?”
“What’s wrong with me?”
But now, after all this work, I realize that the information came through me for my friend. The message wasn’t meant for me, that’s why I couldn’t remember it.
I believe this is where the saying, “just get out of your own way” comes into play. Not that I had a choice. I don’t let my logical mind fight it. I set my ego aside and channel the information. Whether it’s your higher self coming through, or a spiritual guide, or angel, or whatever you want to label it; don't have it go through the logical limited mind and just open up the floodgates to let the good come through.
When we are open like this, we can download such amazing information.
But how do you know if it’s your logical mind or something else?
This is where discernment comes in. You may want to unlock this superpower so badly, but you have to be honest with yourself and know when your ego is talking.
One way that I can tell when my advice is coming from my limited mind, or my ego, is when the information gets filtered through all my old programs. Or, the information feels bumpy, forced, and slow. It kind of feels like it’s not coming from a clear place.
For example, if you have a friend that wants relationship advice but she goes to a friend that is constantly in bad relationships, then the advice she receives will be very different from someone that has been in a long-term, loving relationship. In fact, both friends, if they don’t step aside from their ego, can taint the information as they filter it through their own experiences.
As with everything I do on this site and my channel, it’s all about gaining awareness. Awareness of what you're already doing but may not understand it. With this awareness, you can start to own and use your own gifts. There is nothing to fear here, we’re just turning the lights on.
So what the heck is channeling?
The art of channeling has been used since ancient times. There are stories of shamans, witches, oracles, connecting to higher levels of energy. But really, anyone can channel, and I’m going to show you how.
Channeling is about opening yourself, your mind, and your heart up to higher levels of energy to let it convey through you.
Before you start channeling, let me share how I discovered what channeling truly is and some tips that helped me get better at it.

It’s not to be confused with mediumship. With mediumship, you’re acting as more of a translator and you often don’t let them take over your body. It’s more like you're an interpreter - whereas when you’re channeling, you’re allowing an energetic being to take over your body. It’s kind of like you move to the side and let them take center stage.
Remember, it’s your body so you are always in charge of who can come in and how long they can stay.
Some of these beings can be spirits, angels, archangels, even a guide. Now, discernment is important once again. So, if it doesn't feel good to you, you don’t have to let it in. Just like you wouldn’t let a creepy stranger into your house, you don’t have to let them in your body. The power is always within you.
Channeling. This is not a sex-ed class.
Slowly raise your frequency and meet with the vibrations of the spirit, angel, or whichever higher being that you sense. When that link is made, you may try channeling!
Easy, huh? 😉
Wait there’s more.
You might allow this being to speak through you or you may convey what you are witnessing. You might experience automatic writing or drawing. Maybe this being wants to play an instrument or dance. It really depends on what you're comfortable with.
The cool thing for me is that I get to experience something new. It’s like looking at life with a new pair of glasses on, helping to take you out of that automatic one way of being.

So these are just some suggestions to get you started with channeling. It’s exactly how I did it.
Remember, to be patient with yourself and have fun. You want to keep your energy bright and light. You may actually learn that you’ve been channeling energies all along. Whether that’s while you're at work, or in difficult situations, coming up with ideas, maybe creativity just flows through you, like writing music. Again, there is nothing to fear. You're just waking up to what’s already happening, and giving you the awareness to say no to a lower frequency.
And remember, you are not your body, you are not your emotions, you are light!

When I first started this journey many years ago, I was attracted to learning and having anything mystical. I bought crystals, wands, feathers, staffs, rattles, drums, pendulums, tarot decks--anything that I thought would bring me closer to this invisible veil. Anytime I could travel, I would meet with a shaman, a medicine woman or man, a healer, a psychic, a mystic, or even a mambo. I wanted to learn how they tapped into the quantum field. What was their secret? What were the most used divination tools?
To my surprise, some just used household items, while others had purchased or made extravagant tools. It didn’t seem to matter though. They all seemed to work. Why? Intention, belief, focus, and power.
This is the most important formula when using your divination tools. Not how much they cost, or where you got them from. The power is within you. To find the tool that gets you excited, and have fun exploring. I’m going to list a few just to get your feet wet. If you want to learn more you can always pop over to my website.
There are so many different divination tools out there. I know I bought them all but you don't have to. Join me as I share how I selected what was best for my practice.
What the heck are Divination tools?
That’s right...I called them tools because that's what they are.
Just like a carpenter uses his hammer, or a plumber uses a wrench, Mystics use divination tools. These are just different ways to help you feel confident in expressing what you are already picking up. Remember the real magic is inside of you.
PRO TIP: Create a sacred space, have a ceremony or a ritual--this will help you transition from your muggle self into a wizard.
I need my ritual to help me transition. If I don’t, it feels like I’m going to work in my pajamas. I need that time to transition and bring out my higher mystical pants--I mean parts.
When you first begin your journey, you may feel drawn or connected to using certain tools. From pendulums, runes, tea leaves, tarot cards, your Nonnas holy water, or her collection of saint cards. Do you remember which card helps you to find lost things? ( It’s Saint Anthony - do I look new to you. 🙂 Some people collect hockey cards. My nonna had her saints. Now, you can see there are many, many more divination tools and we'll look at some of these in our post. You may find that you’re more gifted in one method than another. Use what works best for you and your abilities. And remember, be kind with yourself just like with any other skill set, this is gonna take some practice.
This is probably one of the easiest tools to use. It's a simple matter of asking "Yes" or "No" questions and receiving answers. The message you receive depends on how the pendulum swings. The trick is learning to ask the right questions.
Now, when you first get your pendulum, you can train it to show you what each direction means. You can also do this by creating a chart, or by asking your pendulum to show you. For me, I like “yes” to swing forward and backward, and “no” to be side to side. I also do clockwise for “yes” and counterclockwise for “no”.
I will sometimes use my pendulum during a tarot reading to double-check if a card is correct. I place my pendulum over the cards and if I get a no I’ll pull the card and get another one.
My dad would make his own pendulum using just a needle and thread. This was the divination tool that he would use when someone was pregnant in order to find out the sex of the baby. He would put the needle in front of the belly and watch the way it would swing. From there he would declare the sex. The cool thing is he was always right. I loved watching him do it.
It’s been said the Runes are actually one of the oldest divination tools, dating all the way back to 800 A.D. There are 24 runes, each with a related letter of the runic alphabet, with different meanings depending on the way they are cast. I like to use one rune at a time just to keep things simple. First, I settle my mind, then I ask my question -- clean and clear. I’ll pop my hand in my magic pouch and pull out a rune. Then I look up the meaning. When you buy a set it usually comes with a little booklet. Or, if you’re a member, I have a beautiful printout for you on my website.
Reading tea leaves has been around since the 17th century. I personally don’t read tea leaves, but in the past, I’ve gone to see European mystics that use this as their divination tool. I really enjoyed the whole ceremony of reading tea leaves. I mean, I get to drink something and have my future read. It’s a win-win.
The reader makes a cup of tea, pours out the extra liquid, and turns the cup upside down to read what she sees.
I’ll often use tarot cards before a healing session with a client to give me an idea of what’s happening in their life. I use them more as a guideline map instead of a prediction or a fixed future. I believe It’s something that can be changed, especially after an energy healing. You're upgrading your energetic blueprint. For example, If you feel like you are only worthy of crappy relationships then that’s what your cards are going to keep saying. And that's what you're going to keep doing until YOU change.
Now the easy way to get started with the tarot is having fun! Let loose, bring out your intuition.
Hold your deck of cards in your hand, ask your question, and trust your superpowers (a.k.a. your psychic gifts). Place the cards in front of you, then scan the cards with the palm of your hand. Notice if you have any tingling in your palm, or perhaps you get chills. That’s your clairs working. Pull that card and see if the message resonates with you. You can look up the meaning or use your intuition and see what you pick up for yourself.
Now, there are a lot of different styles of decks. Again, pick the one that resonates with you. When you first start out I do recommend the Rider Waite deck of cards. The Tarot deck is usually made up of 78 cards, You have the major arcana and the minor arcana. That includes four suits, they are the wands, swords, cups, and coins or pentacles.
It can be pretty overwhelming when you're first starting out. So I put together a mini-course to help you learn in a fun and easy way. Remember, work at your own pace.
Now there are many divination tools. I enjoy these ones but find the ones that light you up. Remember the answers are already within you, so don’t get caught up in feeling like you have to memorize everything when you start. These are just tools to unlock your gifts and give you the extra confidence to get them out.
Remember you are not your thoughts, you are not your emotions, you are light. So, stay bright!

You might have heard me talking about cords or tentacles in my other blogs. I’m not talking about power cords, or octopus, octupses? Octopies? Who knows how to spell them. No, I’m referring to the way we tap into each other, energetically. This is very natural, and we do it all the time. In fact, this is how some of us get our information about each other.
As a mom, I can easily tap into my daughters and experience how they are feeling. Some of us don’t even realize we’re doing it. But the problems begin when you forget to take your cords out of someone and return to your own center. Or, you don’t realize that you have even been corded!
This is where shit goes wrong.
In this blog, we’re going to learn how to identify these leftover cords and how to release them before they start hurting and depleting your own energetic field.
Have you ever had the experience where you are just chillin’ and suddenly you get this surge of energy or a surge of pain out of nowhere? This is often followed by a strong emotion. Well, you’re not crazy, and once you identify it’s not a heart attack, it may be that someone just plugged into your energy field or they just activated the cord that was already tethered to you. I see this all the time with my clients who are stuck in controlling relationships either with a loved one or a family member.
Now before you get your panties in a knot, I want you to know that these cords are simply invisible strands of energy that connect you to other people, places, and things. These cords are not part of your own conscious mind but exist at the subconscious and unconscious levels.
You can’t see them with your physical eyes, obviously, but they affect your life just the same. So, if you’re very sympathetic towards people, you’re likely cording them all the time. The problem is that when you do this, you may feel responsible for their needs. You are drawn into their concerns, and your energy will start to match theirs. This can really make you feel confused and even spun out because you’re picking up someone else’s life lessons, messages, and emotions.
And they won’t make any sense to you because they’re not yours!
You have no context for them, but they feel real just the same. That’s why you want to gently remove them once you get the information you were looking for. Don’t just walk away when you’re still plugged in!
Now some cords are positive and feel good. It’s the way we connect with our loved ones.
If you are in a romantic relationship with someone you may find that you are connected to the heart and sacral chakras.
You know, love and sex.
A parent may cord their children in their root chakra to help them survive. Even your pets can cord you. Letting you know when they’re hungry, or it’s time for you to come home and let them out.
Mine does it at two in the morning. I might buy a box of Depends for the damn dog.
But it’s when these cords become sticky, tangled, and filled with negative intent, that they can start to hurt you. They make you feel depleted, confused, even controlled. But understand, no one can put a cord into your field without your consent.
This is the hard part to understand.
At some level, you are willing to give them permission. If it feels negative and heavy, and you let it happen, it’s probably tied to an old program or belief that you are holding on to. For example, if you’re letting your partner control you, then you may be fulfilling an old belief that loved ones are allowed to do this. Maybe this was an agreement you made with one of your parents or you saw them make this agreement with each other. Jump to your current self and you may find out that you accepted this cord from your partner because of this old belief system.
The farther you travel on your healing journey, the more you’ll realize that you no longer want some of these cords in your field, especially if they are making you feel sick, heavy, and tired.
We can’t just cut these cords because, in the energetic realm, you’ll start to look like a wounded octopus with all these tentacles flailing about your field leaking your vital energy. Instead, we want to gently retract the cords keeping your energy intact.
So how do we do this? I like to use visualization when I’m meditating to clear these cords out of my energy. Visualizations are very powerful in self-healing. I set my intention to "de-cord" myself from others whenever I feel drained and depleted.

When I do this, sometimes a person’s face pops up into my mind’s eye. I take this as a sign that this person has a cord in me. If it feels good, I leave it in. If not, I remove it. If no one pops up, I often find a cord by scanning my body along my chakras using my hand.
People say that the first five chakras are the ones that get corded the most. That makes sense because they’re connected to your survival, sexual energy, power, love, and self-expression.
If you find that you have problems with your personal boundaries, that may mean that your eighth chakra has been corded by someone.
Anyway, back to the de-cording.
While I’m slowly running my hands along my chakras, I’m looking for any sensation of temperature differences. If I feel this, it tells me I have some work to do - at that point. It might not be a temperature change. It can also feel like a denseness or even a tingle in your hand. This tells me I found a cord.
Now the cord can feel thick and coarse or thin and wispy, it doesn’t matter-- but like roots from a tree, some can be deep and tricky to remove.
Now, remember you’re not cutting it or yanking it out. Instead, energetically begin to visualize twisting the cord at the level of your skin, almost playing with, twirling it, moving it from side to side, giving it room to slip out, tugging ever so gently when you feel it start to give.
Once it slides out, I visualize tying a knot at the end of the cord and sending it back to its owner. Then I place my hand over the spot where the cord once was and I visualize gold light soothing and healing the wound.
Sometimes it can be tougher than that to remove a cord. If you’re having trouble I have more tips and exercises in my membership that can help you, so feel free to head over there.
Now depending on which chakra has been corded, it can tell you a lot about your relationship with this person. If someone is not being authentically loving in a relationship, you may find that the energetic cord goes into the heart chakra down along the spine and is grounded in your solar plexus.
Your power center.
This is someone that manipulates love and power, and I see this a lot with my clients. The partner strengthens the cord by saying things like, “if you do this or act this way I will love you”. You may even feel your stomach tighten when they are around you.
I’ve seen cords enter one place and go all the way to your sacral chakra cutting off your creativity or blocking your sexual energy.
Once again, these are just a few examples and tips to open up your awareness of the energetic cords. Is your living space a friggin’ mess? Can you sense the pile of laundry, even though you’re downstairs? Wait! I’m not going to tell you to go upstairs and tackle all those chores right now. That's what maids are for. I mean, that’s whatkids are for. But I will start by saying maintaining a clean, fresh, living space will help your Clairsentience to flourish. Join me in this blog post as we’re going to learn what it means to be clairsentient and how to activate it.
Clairsentient. What does it mean? Well it actually means: “Clear Feeling”. And it’s not some wooji wooji thing about a spooky paranormal power, in fact it's a natural and divine ability that lives within all of us.
You already use your five senses- smell, taste, hearing, touch, and sight. They help you process your physical world but your 6th sense helps you understand how energy plays in this realm. And we know everything is energy, so it makes sense that we have the ability to feel this. We hear people talking about gut feelings or sensing something is not right…this is clairsentience.
In my modeling days, I was always traveling to a new country with new customs, most of which I didn’t know. And I would rely on my clairsentience to keep me safe. I can remember times where I was so exhausted and lost (this was way before smart phones and google), I had to rely on folded foreign maps, and foreign bus schedules. It wasn’t always taxis and limousines. But I was very grateful when it was.
I remember one time in Germany. I was walking to my last modeling audition and I was tired. It was cloudy, wet, and not many people were out on the streets. All of a sudden I got a creepy feeling in my gut. I looked around and saw a car driving slowly next to me. I thought, “fuck!! this guy is following me”. Instead of waiting around to see if I was right, I changed directions immediately. I ran in the opposite way. His car picked up speed, but couldn't turn around fast enough on the tiny road. That’s when I turned around again and headed to my appointment. I was grateful then to trust this Clair -- this ability or superpower as I like to call it. Internally I thanked myself, and my guides for protecting me. So much of the time, we hear ourselves say, “I knew that was going to happen”. But I didn't listen. That's gonna change now! We are going to start to learn to trust and listen to this gut feeling.
As children we loved bathing ourselves in energy as we played, but our modern adult world forces us to report our human experience using only our five senses. We are taught to shut these feelings down. And when these powers completely escape some individuals, they are usually the first people to make fun of any mention of using these innate, dormant abilities.
To me, it’s not normal to live this way, to shut ourselves off from our natural abilities and cut ourselves off from the knowledge of the universe. It’s kinda dumb, if you ask me.
Now, in some of my YouTube videos we discussed the sacral chakra and your second energetic light layer in your auric field. The cool thing is that they are key to unlocking clairsentience. This clair is connected to these energetic realms. That’s why you feel the information in your lower gut, and it comes up as feelings. You’ve heard it all before, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this”, or “that guy has a really cool vibe”. That’s because your sacral chakra is picking up information from the energy around you. It does it all the time, you simply picked that moment to become aware of it.
Now the same is true when you just want to chill and close down this energy center. I either visualize it closing like a flower, or I will put my hand in front of my energy center and close my hand making a fist and shut them down.
Visualization is an amazing tool.
This way, you are always in control. So, if you find yourself in a crowded space, and you're starting to feel overwhelmed, lower the volume in this energy center in order to find some comfort. It’s that simple.
Another way you can recognize the power of being clairsentient is goosebumps. Or truth bumps, as I like to call it. No Laughing!
This always happens when someone tells me a story and by the end, my arms look like a chicken that has been plucked. The energy is so present that my body lets me know that everything is in alignment. Have you ever experienced that?
What’s interesting about Clairsentience, and something that actually surprised me at first, was that this Clair can connect you to your deceased loved ones. I wonder if that’s why I sometimes get goosebumps, or chills, when I enter a room. Even when it's not cold! To me, it’s just an entity or energy on the other side just saying, “hello, I’m here!”
To identify this clair within you, start by focusing on the emotions that spring up when you encounter someone new. Or when you walk into a new space. Pay attention to what your gut is telling you. Understand that it’s actually your innate ability to read the energy around you. If you’ve been working on your sacral chakra, you may find this information coming to you more freely or even stronger.
Also, I always feel sick or nauseated after I’ve been around negative people, or if I’ve been hanging out in a crappy environment with low frequency. If this is you, know that you're not crazy. It's your Clair! It’s talking to you, warning you, telling you to run!!! This is how your body processes this energy in order to communicate with you.

Nowadays, I can often just scan my body to see where I’m picking up information. It usually starts in my gut. Next, I may ask myself what's going on? What are you trying to tell me? Then I will take a look around and see what triggered it. It may be a person, or the room, even an object. I register the message, but the important thing is to release the energy right afterwards. Especially if there is any pain or low emotions attached to it, that's the new piece to this puzzle. Don’t hold the emotions in your body. Not even for a minute.
Understand, we can pick up these negative energies even when we read or watch the news. We pick up the emotions and then carry them. Let that shit go. If you find it difficult to let go, then you can see that your body is addicted to this frequency and is constantly looking to be fed. That’s why you keep attracting the same stories, the same people and the same places…
Ok back on track...
What do you do if your Clairsentience ability is on overdrive and you just need a break?
I’ll experience this if I’m around a person going through a really hard time, or if I’m going to a crowded party and I don’t want to pick up on everyone's emotional crap. Remember: You're always in control of your own energy centers.
Here’s a Tip:
Sit comfortably on a chair with your feet firmly on the ground.
Focus on your breath, slowing your energy down.
Place your hand in front of your sacral chakra, which is just below your belly button.
With your palm facing towards your body, simply close your hand. Giving yourself a visual of your chakra closing down. You can imagine an opened flower in front of your sacral energy center and then command the flower to close down. You are simply choosing to shut down this information temporarily. When you're ready you can re-open it.
So remember, those gut feelings, those goosebumps you’ve been experiencing, that’s your physical body processing your ability to read the energy of things you encounter. Don’t ignore it. Learn to trust this clair. You might need her one day.
