How to Clean Your Energy Field

Cleaning your energy field is an often-overlooked but essential part of spiritual well-being. I know, I know—who has time for another thing to clean, right? You’ve already got your hands full with the house, the kids, the partner, and everything else that piles up in life. But here’s the deal: your energy field is like an invisible sponge that soaks up everything around you. It’s constantly interacting with people, places, and situations, and that’s why it’s crucial to keep it squeaky clean. I promise you, it’s easier (and more fun) than you think.

Let’s dive into how to keep your energy field shiny, clear, and protected.

Why Should You Clean Your Energy Field?

We all know what it feels like when our energy is “off.” Maybe you’ve had a tough day at work, or perhaps a negative conversation left you feeling drained. Or maybe you’ve just been around someone who’s carrying heavy energy, and you unknowingly picked up some of it. You can tell because, suddenly, you're feeling down, irritable, or anxious—sound familiar?

Your energy field, also known as your aura, acts as a protective cocoon around you. When it gets clogged with lower-vibrational energies—negative thoughts, emotions, or even the energies of other people—you start to feel out of balance. That’s when it’s time to hit the reset button and clean things up. The good news is, just like you spring-clean your house, you can spring-clean your aura and feel instantly lighter, happier, and more aligned.

Signs Your Energy Field Needs a Cleanse

Before we get into the how-to, let’s talk about some of the telltale signs that your energy field might need a little TLC. Are you:

  • Feeling overwhelmed or unusually tired?
  • Constantly in a funk that you can’t seem to shake?
  • Taking on other people’s problems or emotions as your own?
  • Experiencing negative self-talk or doubting yourself more than usual?

If you said yes to any of the above, it’s probably time to give your energy field a good cleanse. Think of it as self-care for your soul.

Tip #1: Take a Bath with Sea Salt

You heard me right—one of the simplest and most relaxing ways to clean your energy field is with a sea salt bath. Salt is a natural cleanser, not just for your skin but also for your energy.

How to Do It:

  • Add about a cup of sea salt or Epsom salt to your bathwater.
  • As you soak, imagine the salt drawing out any negative or stagnant energy from your aura.
  • If you want to amplify the cleansing effect, repeat a mantra or set an intention to clear your energy while you bathe. Something simple like “I release what no longer serves me” works beautifully.

I personally use Dr. Teal’s Epsom salts from the grocery store. You don’t need anything fancy—just salt, water, and a few moments of mindfulness. Plus, who doesn’t love a good excuse to relax in the tub?

Tip #2: Use a Sage Wand (Smudging)

Burning sage has been used for centuries to purify energy and clear negativity. The ritual of smudging is one of my go-tos when I need to refresh my energy field. I love how simple and effective it is.

How to Do It:

  • Light your sage wand (you can find these at most metaphysical shops or even online) and let the smoke envelop your body.
  • As you wave the sage around yourself, say out loud or in your mind, “If this energy is not mine, please take it away.”
  • Move the sage wand in a circle around your entire body, paying special attention to your head, chest, and any areas that feel particularly heavy.

You’ll feel an immediate sense of lightness and clarity, and with regular practice, you’ll start to notice that negative energy doesn’t cling to you as much.

Tip #3: Get Outside!

Mother Nature is the ultimate energy cleanser. When you feel heavy or drained, there’s nothing like stepping outside for a walk in the sunshine. Nature has a way of effortlessly raising your vibration and clearing away the emotional cobwebs.

How to Do It:

  • Go outside, take off your shoes, and walk barefoot in the grass (this is called "grounding," and it’s amazing for clearing your energy).
  • Take deep breaths, and as you exhale, imagine any negative energy leaving your body.
  • If you can, walk near water, a forest, or even your local park. These natural elements help to dissolve and release any stuck energy in your field.

The key here is to get out of your head and connect to the beauty around you. I promise you’ll come back from your walk feeling lighter, more balanced, and refreshed.

Tip #4: Get Your Groove On

Okay, this one is my favorite! If you’re feeling stuck, stagnant, or just plain "blah," one of the quickest ways to shift your energy is by moving your body. Dance, jump, stretch—whatever gets you out of your head and into your body.

How to Do It:

  • Put on your favorite song—the one that always lifts your mood—and just dance like no one’s watching. Let your body move freely without thinking about how you look. This releases stagnant energy and gets the good vibes flowing.
  • If dancing isn’t your thing, try yoga or even a short workout. The point is to move, sweat a little, and get your energy circulating again.

Movement shakes off stuck energy, and trust me, after a few minutes of dancing around your living room, you’ll feel like a new person.

Tip #5: Meditate and Visualize White Light

When all else fails, good old-fashioned meditation is your best friend. Not only does it calm your mind, but it also cleanses your energy field and brings you back to center.

How to Do It:

  • Sit quietly and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself.
  • Imagine a bright, white light pouring down from above and surrounding your entire body. This white light acts as a cleanser, dissolving any negativity or heaviness in your aura.
  • Stay with this visualization for a few minutes until you feel light and clear. You can also visualize this white light filling up any gaps in your energy field, making it strong and radiant.

This technique is perfect for a quick energy reset, especially if you’re short on time.

Final Thoughts

Cleaning your energy field doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. In fact, the more you make it a regular part of your self-care routine, the better you’ll feel in the long run. Remember, you are constantly interacting with the energies of others, and sometimes, it’s easy to pick up negativity without realizing it. But with these simple tips—whether it’s a sea salt bath, a quick walk in the sun, or a few minutes of meditation—you’ll be able to keep your energy field sparkling clean and full of positive vibes.
