Have you ever had a moment where you realized you’ve been living life on autopilot, never questioning your beliefs or the programs running your decisions? That’s exactly where I found myself before I began my consciousness journey. Once I started to awaken, it felt like someone had turned on the lights in my head, and everything around me changed. If you’re experiencing something similar, I want you to know it’s a fantastic phase to go through, and you’re not alone.
In this post, I’ll guide you on how to use your dream state to uncover old programs that might be keeping you trapped. Let’s dive in
One night, after a wild party in Los Angeles, I was driving home when something clicked. I noticed the people walking down the streets, heads down, no smiles, no eye contact—just a sea of disconnected souls. It was as if everyone had forgotten who they were and why they were here. The sight made me want to shout, “Wake up! You’re so much more than you think!”
This was a pivotal moment for me, one that made me realize I needed to start doing my inner work and detoxing the old programs that were running my life. As my awareness expanded, I began to see patterns not just in my waking life but also in my dreams.
When I dreamt, I used to believe everything that happened was real. I didn’t question it; I accepted it as my reality. Even when things didn’t seem quite right—like seeing a distorted reflection in a mirror or awkwardly flying through the air—I never thought I had the power to change anything.
Upon waking, I’d often wonder why I hadn’t taken control in my dreams. Why didn’t I stick up for myself or seize opportunities? The biggest question was, why didn’t I become lucid?
Lucid dreaming is when you become aware that you’re dreaming and you can control everything within that dream. It’s like having the ultimate power without any consequences—a tempting concept, right?
As I reflected on my dreams, I realized the same thing was happening in my waking life. I’d get a glimpse of who I truly was, but then the demands of daily life would pull me back into old patterns, leaving me feeling powerless. I decided it was time to try something new to break this cycle.
Each night before bed, I began to ask the universe to show me any subconscious programs that were running my life. When I woke up, I’d do a quick scan of my body and thoughts, holding onto the feelings and experiences from my dreams.
I’d ask myself:
This introspection revealed how much time and energy I’d wasted obsessing over things that ultimately didn’t matter. I couldn’t take anything from my dreams back to reality except for the memories and the lessons learned.
By identifying these old programs of attachment, I realized I could consciously update them.
As I continued this practice, I began asking more questions about my dreams:
If the answers to these questions were negative, I’d dig deeper. What took me over in the dream? Was I fighting, yelling, or feeling fearful? This line of questioning helped me uncover automatic programs running my subconscious, giving me the opportunity to shift my perspective and realign my life.
The more I practiced this introspection, the easier it became to stay lucid in my dreams. I noticed that whenever I came from a place of love and openness, everything around me started to shift. In dreams, what you think of, you create instantly. In waking life, it just takes a little longer.
This realization empowered me to make changes in my daily life, too. For instance, if I was unappreciative in my dreams, I’d make an effort to be grateful during the day. I didn’t analyze it for hours—I simply made a conscious choice to shift my mindset.
Once you start practicing this technique, you might notice your dreams begin to change. You may even find yourself becoming lucid, where you can explore new worlds and be whoever you want to be. It’s like Bill Murray in “Groundhog Day,” realizing that the consequences we fear often don’t mean much, and slowly changing life for the better.
I hope this post encourages you to start living the life you dream of. Tap into your full potential and embrace the present moment. Remember, you are not your body, your thoughts, or your emotions—you are light, so be bright.
